“Betfred is partnering with Long Shot’s for Maryland sports betting.”

Betfred will offer both retail and online sports betting in the state.

The Maryland Jockey Club will open a temporary retail sportsbook next to Long Shot’s for the National Football League season in 2022. The facility will include self-service betting kiosks and in-person betting windows.

A permanent sportsbook site with a video wall, theatre-style seating and food and beverage facilities is scheduled to open early next year.

Betfred plans to offer online sports betting in the state, though it is subject to final regulatory approval.

After voters approved sports betting through a November 2020 referendum in Maryland, Governor Larry Hogan signed a bill to legalise both online and retail sports betting.

Online sports betting has not yet launched, despite the fact that retail betting has been available since December.

Hogan called for online sports betting to be live in time for the new season of the National Football League.

Betfred has 50 years of bookmaking experience and Long Shot has success with off-track betting, so we believe this will be a formidable partnership to compete in the Maryland sports betting space.

Long Shot was at the forefront of bringing sports betting to Maryland and specifically to Frederick. We are partnering with Betfred Sports to open a sportsbook at Long Shot’s.

Long Shot’s is one of the premier off-track betting locations in the State, and we look forward to achieving similar success with sports wagering.
