Poker Stars promotion with 40 Platinum Passes

Stars is giving away 40 U.S.-awarded Platinum Passes to the Poker Stars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship in January, which is the most significant promotion that the site has launched in a long time.

The Platinum Passes will be given away live and online in the U.S. states, where Stars is regulated between now and January. The Platinum Passes have a value of $30,000 and include the following.

Immediately following the return of the PCA, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will run from January 30 to February 3, 2033 in the same location. From January 22 to January 29, 2003 the PCA precedes the PSPC. A buy-in of $10,300 is required to enter the PCA Main event. The Baha Mar Resort in Nassau is where all of the fun takes place.

The U.S. was included in the global promotion

Exactly how the live portion of the U.S.-based promotion isn’t fully laid out to the public. A new partnership with Las Vegas’s Resorts World casino is expected to run several live events through the remainder of the year. Stars does not yet have an online license to offer its services in Nevada, and though that discussion is beyond the scope of this piece, that is something that at some point is inevitable. Stars will probably find a way to do some live poker events in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, at which a few of those PSPC packages will be awarded.

The 40 seats have a listed collective value of over one million dollars. Between now and the start of the PCA, 400 Platinum Passes will be awarded by PokerStars. It is nice to see Stars coming back to the States in this way, even though the U.S. accounts for only a tenth of that. There are a few more details available here.

The live portion of the U.S.-focused portion is still being finalized, while the international portion is further along in the planning. The Platinum Passes will be up for grabs at a number of events around the globe. If you are one of our international readers, you can access the PokerStars global PSPC qualification page here.
