Light & Wonder Inc., the parent company of Lightning Box, said in a Wednesday press release that the slot game developer has seen a “major surge” in its global business volume.

The land-based, online, and social casino segments are served by Lightning Box, a developer of mobile and slot games. Scientific Games Corp., a legacy entity of Light & Wonder, acquired the developer in 2021.

The release said that Light & Wonder had provided commercial and expert support to Lightning Box. According to the parent firm, August was the biggest ever month in terms of revenues for Lightning Box.

The release quoted Peter Causley, Lightning Box chief executive and co-founder, as saying that the studio had flourished since the Light & Wonder acquisition has taken them aback.

He declared: “Our games are becoming more and more well-liked all around the world, and we can’t wait to develop new hits to further enter the U.S., Canadian, and European markets.”

More than 50 of the leading U.S. and European operators are said to be live with Lightning Box. Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming platform in the United States allows the developer to release up to 12 new titles every year.

In prepared remarks, Dylan Slaney, CEO of iGaming at Light & Wonder, said that the team at Lightning Box produced some fantastic content that really resonated with players who enjoy land-based titles.

Mr Slaney said that the numbers that have been produced in the first year after the acquisition speak for themselves and prove that it was the right decision to bring Lightning Box into the Light & Wonder family.

In late July, the company said that it had drawn inspiration from Asia for its newest game, “Divine Stars”. The new title was to go on general market release in the first half of August, according to the maker.
