Weerwind still faced questions about illegal gambling from Curaao despite the new gambling legislation recently approved by the island’s Council of Ministers.

He said that the cabinet takes the concerns about the online gambling offer seriously.
The reform and modernization of the entire gambling sector, and in particular the online offshore gambling sector, is one of the measures included in the Curaao National Package.
He said that the Netherlands can’t impose its own rules on the island and must wait for the legislative process to be completed.
