Valuable support for local communities has been provided by the Gambling Commission’s donation of a range of office furniture.

The furniture that was available after the Commission’s satellite office in central London closed has been donated to the Forest of Dean community hospital and the Start2Furnish project.

Thanks to the furniture donation, the Commission has been able to save thousands of dollars and prevent the release of thousands of gallons of carbon dioxide.

According to the Gambling Commission, around 22 million pieces of furniture are discarded in the UK each year, and only 15% of them are recycled.

Both organizations work hard in local communities. Both good causes will be able to focus on their vital work without having to invest in new office furniture thanks to the donation.

The furniture we have received will be used in a new community hospital being built in the Forest of Dean, supporting a bid for funding on paper for our admin block. The desking is very high quality and lovely looking and we are very happy with it.

Start2Furnish CIC is a community project that redistributes furniture and equipment to the community. Thanks for the donations that will help local charities, schools and other not for profits.
