Michigan investigators were tipped off by the public that there were illegal gambling establishments in the city. On August 18 a joint action between the Michigan Department of Attorney General (MDAG) and the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) made raids at The Cellular Vault situated on 3301 Corunna Road and Cellular Bank which is located at 4622 N.

The two raids resulted in the seizure of 11 slot machines, 56 computers, $10,141, and gift cards.

39 computers were found at The Cellular Vault that were being used for games similar to slot machines. 11 video slot machines that are usually found at casinos and 13 computers that were also used for playing slot-style games were found at the Cellular Bank.

In addition to that, gamblers visiting The Cellular Bank were often provided with a PIN code, which allowed them to play casino games online away from the venue itself.

The dangers of illegal gambling were brought to the attention of the MGCB Executive

Henry Williams, executive director at MGCB, commended the public for its assistance in exposing the illicit gambling schemes and emphasized that customers at purported storefront casinos lack access to the consumer safeguards necessary for lawful, regulated gambling.

The two raids and the seizure of the illegal gambling equipment and proceeds are part of a larger investigation into illegal gambling activities in the state.

Michigan investigators busted illegal gambling schemes at two illegitimate storefronts. As a result, the authorities took in 100 devices used for illegal games and $29,200, which made up winnings from the illegal gambling activities. The State Road Spot was located in Davison and the Bristol Spot was located in Burton. The two illegal storefronts casinos are still under investigation.

There are other states that have problems with illegal slot machines. Almost all gas stations in Missouri have illegal slot machines that have spread to them. There is a lack of regulation on slot machines in the state, which leads to the spread of unregulated games.
