At the end of last week, Delta announced that it will be assigning Gary Nay to paint a mural for the new Cascades Casino Delta. The Gateway Casinos & Entertainment will open a gaming area in the fall of this year, with a 150- square-metre mural.
The gaming company shared that the casino will debut at the end of this summer. The casino will have a premium gaming floor with over 500 slot machines, 18 live table games and stadium-style gaming. 600 new stable jobs are expected to be created in the area as a result of it.
The brand of the Cascades is being captured
The new casino’s lower entrance will be home to a 150- square-metre unique piece of art. The administration described Mr. Nay’s work as thoughtful, with a great sense of play, humourous, and visual intelligence, in its press release.
The company wanted a local artist for the job, according to the Director of Public Relations for Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. She explained that Mr. Nay quickly met the criteria to bring the brand to life when the organization started looking for intriguing artwork. His work can be seen in Ladner Village, as well as at the Town Centre mall and several schools.
The casino operator stated in its release that its brand is centered around surrounding local elements and nature themes. The company said that it has redefined its designers to find their playful side by using nature’s cues. It described the design as casual and one which offers patrons a place to relax or play.
Over 600 jobs are created for locals by the new Delta casino, which is a CA$99.3 million investment in the local economy. According to the agreement, 10% of the property’s net gaming revenue will be sent to the City of Delta, and according to projections from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, this will be between CA$ 2.5 million and CA $3 million per annum.
The recruitment has started
Last week, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment announced that it will be holding five in-person job fairs in order to fill hundreds of available positions. The Delta Chamber of Commerce is where the events will be held in August. Food and beverage, dealer, security, and casino operation vacancies will be the focus of the remaining three dates of recruitment.
The construction and launch of the project have been disrupted many times since it was announced. It was supposed to open at the beginning of 2020 but it didn’t happen because of the situation. All gaming amenities in B.C. were closed for a while due to the province’s strong health and safety protocols.
The artist was commissioned to create a mural for the new casino.
