With the rising competition in the province, the Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation continues to put tremendous effort into its sports wagering vertical. This week, the Crown agency announced the launch of a brand-new sports betting app, which perfectly integrates bet-building for in-store purchases with direct online wagering into one integrated application.
The OLG is now fighting competition from the province’s new private market while attempting to keep current with trends and offer innovative sports betting experiences to its sports fans. Similar to revenue from its other gaming, lottery, and sports betting products, will be reinvested in the province to help improve the quality of life for all Ontarians.
Now available for purchase
The first of its kind to be made in the province’s market, the new app is for both in-person and online players and it is developed for both. Bettors can place and pay for live bets in real-time on the new PROLINE+ or choose to create wagers and generate a barcode on the app, which can be utilized to purchase PROLINE tickets at retail locations.
The Crown continues to expand its unique and integrated products for its valued bettors, according to Dave Pridmore, Chief Digital & Strategy Officer for OLG. Customers may use the bet builder on the app or at a retail location to place athletic wagers. He said that the product further cements the Crown’s commitment to convenience and choice.
The PROline+ website is brought into a new environment with the new app, which is free to download and accessible on both iOS and Android devices. It enables its customers to place bets on the whole market for sports betting as well as on-game wagering possibilities offered by the Crown’s PROLINE online platform.
The new app, like all other OLG gaming products, encourages responsible gambling and includes tools to support players in forming positive gaming routines. The app comes with access to PlaySmart.ca, which is the Crown’s internationally acknowledged responsible gambling program. By using the tools, players can set limits on how much they spend and how much they lose.
There have been recent agreements to advance its brand
Several sports partnerships with major brands in the province are what led to the recent launch of a new sports betting app by the OLG. In June, the Crown agency announced a collaboration with the NBA, making its PROLINE brand the first sports betting partner for the league in Ontario. The partnership will allow Ontarians to wager on the NBA draft and other sporting events.
In June, the OLG also signed a multi-year partnership with the MLB. The sportsbook will become an official partner of the league through this agreement. The Crown corporation now has distribution rights to the league’s official logos, as well as cross-promotion across MLB digital and social channels.
August 8, 2022, is the date of the launch of the new sports betting app by the OLG.
